Mortal Kombat Movie Series Rebooted

Mortal Kombat, based off of the 1992 arcade video game, was released on April 16 on HBO Max and in theaters.

The film’s main character, washed-up MMA fighter, Cole Young, is a new addition to the Mortal Kombat realm. As revealed in the trailer, special forces soldier Jax tells Cole the dragon mark he was born with means he’s been chosen to defend Earth (aka Earthrealm) in Mortal Kombat.

The producers and directors did a great job of making the characters find out what their powers are. Though you do have to pay close attention to what’s going on, the storyline of this movie is very well-thought-out and it flows pretty well.

This is overall a good action film. IMDb gave this movie a 6.3 out of 10, which I think is low. I give this movie an 8.5 out of 10 stars.

I don’t give it a 9 because it gets a little confusing at times, but I cannot give it any lower than an 8.5 just because the screenplay is amazing, and I personally like that they’re rebooting the Mortal Kombat movies.
