Wrestling Co-op tops East

Lady Bucs top Auburn

Belvidere Co-op Wrestling team started the season off with a meet at Belvidere North High School against East winning 40-27.

The wrestling team had a great win on April 29; Colin Young had the performance of the night. Young won his match by a  pin (3:48).

Antonio Alvarado won his match by a pin (1:11), Jackson Clark by a pin (2:34), and Jake Bell by a major 11-3.

Lady Bucs soccer team had their first game on April 27 at Auburn High School winning to the Knights in penalty kicks.

Goals were made by freshman Ruby Hererra, freshman Marissa Pasillas, senior Guadalupe Garcia, and freshman Keyla Suarez. Herrera saved one penalty kick.

The Lady Bucs also dropped a 10-1 loss to North April 29.

Junior Stephanie Anacleto said, “Although we are low on numbers, every single player on the team works hard. We may not be able to beat the higher-ranked teams, but we have a chance to compete against the teams like Auburn and Jefferson.”

Coach Simon Stevens said, “We head into a contest with Boylan with, 15 girls  – 2 on possible IR  and 3 who never played soccer before. in their lives.”
