The Girls Volleyball continue their winning game streak 4-0

The Belvidere Girls Volleyball team went up against Rockford East on April 6th with the first set with 25-21, and the second game 25-9.

Junior Athena Kindgren said, “I think the game went well, We played really hard and earned our win, I think we are improving a lot and I’m really proud of us”.

The girls went up against Auburn on Thursday, April 8th with the first set 25-21, 25-16, 25-13. The girls won the first and third sets with Senior Meadow Cox having 11 digs, Senior Haley Harbison with 3 blocks, and  Kindgren with 7 aces.

Head Coach Storm Britt said, “The girls last night rallied together and fought hard. After we lost in the second game we had to change lineups due to an injury and as a team, the girls came together and worked hard in the 3rd game to defeat Auburn.”

The Girls Varsity team had two games over spring break. The first game was against Harlem on March 30. Where varsity lost their first set 25-21, and won the next two, 25-19, 25-14.

Sophomore Ava Bankford said, “They were good but we put a really good fight and ended up winning after 3 sets”.

The girls also had another game during the week of spring break winning against Jefferson. On April 1st, with scores of 25-11 and 25-12.

Next week’s game dates are April 13th, against Belvidere North at home. The game starts at 7:00 p.m., April 15th against Rockford East at home, and the game starts at 7:00 p.m. which is also the girl’s senior night. The girls will also be taking on Guilford, at Guilford on April 17th.

The girls face Jefferson on April,10th at Jefferson the game starts at 12:00 p.m.
