The boys’ varsity team season not looking good as they drop losses to North and East this week.

Varsity couldn’t pull off a win against their rival, Belvidere North on Feb. 27. They fell short to the Blue Thunder, losing 46-33. Their top scorers were seniors Kaleb Hayes with 12 points and Zach Johnson with 7 points.

Head Coach Brian Koehne said, “Turnovers continue to be an issue for us.  We need to protect the ball better to give ourselves more opportunities.  I thought we played hard, we just need to keep working to take that next step and close the gap.”

The Bucs did not play their best game on Mar. 2 against the East E-Rabs, losing 79-32. Their top scorer was Johnson with 12 points.

Senior Dylan Schohn said, “Losing three of our four returning starters is really tough but we need to play hard, do the little things right, and play as a team for the remainder of the season.”

JV lost both games as well, losing by 20+ points. Both teams will be hoping to get their first win tonight, as they face the Rockford Guilford Vikings tonight.
