The Belvidere Co-op boys swimming and diving team had a fantastic end to their dual meet season on senior night this Tuesday.

The team picked up two more wins on Thursday, beating Rockford East 111 to 54, and Jefferson 116 to 60.

“I improved in some events I haven’t swam in years, and I’m still working to improve on my best times. So hopefully next week at conference I can meet my goals, and break a couple more goals,” said senior Daniel Golonka.

The Belvidere Co-op is officially second in conference, which is the best they have ever been.

┬ĘThe Belvidere Co-op Swim and Dive seniors had a phenomenal year. Daniel Golonka broke the BHS 100 freestyle record this year bringing his total to six school records. He is the best breaststroker on the team. He is extremely dedicated,: said Coach Allison Smith.

This Saturday the Boys swimming and diving will compete in the J-Hawk invitational in preparation for the NIC-10 conference meet March 13.
