Covid-19 stops Scholastic bowl on dominant run

The BHS Scholastic Bowl earned their third consecutive Regional title on March 9.

Junior Matthew Colson said “I’m really proud of how we did and I hope we can perform like this next year.”

Due to the spread of Covid-19 there will no longer be any Scholastic bowl matches for the remainder of the year.

Scholastic Bowl head coach Mr. Stuart Teso-Warner said, “It was the unfortunate timing of the COVID-19 pandemic that resulted in BHS Scholastic Bowl not getting to participate in the rest of the State Series for IHSA. Our administrators and district leaders, IHSA leaders, and governor did make the right call about school closings and social distancing. The district has done an amazing job in response to this unprecedented event. The team did win our Regional for the 3rd year in a row and had a really good chance of finishing 1st or 2nd at Sectionals.”

The team was looking to make a run in sectionals but due to the fast spreading virus it was shut down.

Senior James Wiedow said, “It really sucks that the season had to end this was my senior year but I am happy to go out with a regional title.”
