Senior Eddie Ortiz will be returned to state on Jan. 30 for the third time in a row for the ILMEA All-State honors.

Ortiz will be played Euphonium at the All-State competition.

Ortiz said, “It was great to see all of the hard work I put in over the years pay off. It’s also great to go my senior year and go out of high school on top.”

Old classmate and last year’s fellow Drum Major Emma Wallace said, “I am so happy for Eddie. He has put in so much hard work over the years and I’m happy that he gets to end his high school career with a trip to state.”

This was the seventh year in a row the BHS Band department has had a student be picked to partake in the ILMEA All-state Festival.

Classmate junior Kiana Staton said, “It’s cool to see one of the seniors be so successful in band.”
