Science Olympiad, Scholastic Bowl stay busy

BHS Science Olympiad traveled to Auburn High School on Jan. 18 and won 35 medals as a team, including six first place medals.

BHS students that participated were senior Daniela Nungaray, junior Alex Paulson, sophomore Amanda White, and freshmen Tyler Ferdon, Karolina Zdanowicz, Madalyn Grimm, Noah Cresson, Ashley Sanchez, and Jade McAllister.

Grimm said, “We did well and took a great W.”

Mr. Tyler Erwin, the advisor of Science Olympiad, said, “I believe that education is all about being excited about something. Seeing passion and enthusiasm helps push an educational message.”

Their next competition is in Joliet on Feb. 15.

BHS Scholastic Bowl competed in the Bergstron Stateline Quiz Bowl against Marengo. Results are going to revealed on Feb. 29, when it airs on WTVO. BHS team members included seniors Leo Alfaro and John King and juniors Matthew Colson and Aston Martin.
