Girls swimming placed fifth in their varsity conference meet at Harlem on Nov. 9.

The girls were only two points away from fourth place.

The team also placed third in their Frosh/Soph meet at Jefferson High School on Nov. 2.

Freshman Sutton Gaines finished fifth in the Medley Relay, fourth in the 200 IM, fifth in the 200 Free Relay, and fifth in the 100 Breaststroke.

Gaines said, “I’m proud to represent BHS in swimming. I know that I can make my school proud with my hard work and success.”

In other sports, cross country ended their season on Nov. 2 at the Belvidere Sectionals meet, with the girls placing 16th overall.

Sophomore Kaleigh Inniss led the girls team with an individual place of 37th, clocking in at 20:02.

Inniss said, “Everybody really improved on racing more aggressively and not settling in their spots. I know for me during sectionals, I was really aggressive and kept finding girls to catch and pass.”

Senior Nick Fiore, 17:36, placed 87th and junior Owin Hunter, 18:07, placed 116th in the boys’ race.
