The Belvidere High School theater department will be putting on a show called Zapped from April 11-13 in the Performing Arts Center at BHS.

Zapped was written by an American author Paul Fleischman. Fleischman is known for his contributions as a children’s writer.

According to Kirkus review, the play Zapped is aimed at a generation with a taste of razor-sharp comedy. The rapid-fire Zapped is smart and a farcical new play for high school students that’s ready to bring the house down.

Theatre director Greg Reilly said, “The great thing about this play is that it is there is something in it for pretty much everyone. Romance…comedy…Shakespeare…and mystery is just a few of the genres that come out of this show. I think what is so fun is that each of the characters is so memorable. We have a wonderful cast full that represents the talent that we have at BHS.”

Senior Sarah Chambers said, “This is my first time being involved in any sort of theatre production. It was scary at first but I feel right at home with everyone. It had been an amazing experience so far and it had really helped me come out of my shell.” Chambers plays Audrey McPherson in the comedy part of Zapped.
