Easter makes Headlines

Belvidere has Meet the Easter Bunny on April 14, happens from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The National Honor’s Society Easter Eggstravaganza, held on April 18 at BHS from 3:30- 5:30 p.m.  April 20 is a Easter party at 314 S State St, in Belvidere. This is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cherry Valley mall has the Easter Bunny come and anyone can get a picture taken. It is available until April 20. Visits with the Bunny are Free, but any photos or merchandise is not. The bunny hours go from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Sunday is 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Central Christian Church is having a Easter event on April 21. Held in Rockford and it is meant to bring people together. It starts at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. is when the Easter breakfast will be given out.

According to www.cccrockford.org, this event is for Easter, but it is really about Jesus. This is an important holiday in the life of churches everywhere since it’s the day when we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. There is also activities for kids.

According to www.history.com, Christian holiday that celebrates the belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the New Testament of the Bible, the event is said to have occurred three days after Jesus was crucified by the Romans and died in roughly 30 A.D.

Activities are at this event for kids and the church is looking for at least a $5 donation to help out for the cost of the event. The money can be put in a envelope that is already made to have all the donations in. The food and drinks are and activities have no cost, just as much as the photo booth. Just the main event itself is a $5 donation.

Next is a photo booth, it is held in the lobby and it is free to use.

“Having a free photo booth would be amazing and fun! Having the ability to capture the moments for free”, said senior Angela Inniss.

Sophomore Sophia Medina said,”I think a free photo booth is a great idea. It’s a great way to put smiles on peoples faces. Especially ones who can’t afford the cost.”

This event is only held on Easter and the church is looking for as many people to be a part of it as possible. They are also looking for new people to come join.
