BHS and BNHS student councils hold the first annual Belvidere’s Got Talent. The talent show brought the community together in a fun way.

“The talent show greatly exceeded my expectations in many ways. The student councils worked very hard to create such a successful event to showcase such amazing local talent,” said BHS Student Council Advisor Mrs. Donna Schelonka.

There was a wide variety of performances including instruments, martial arts, singing, and dancing. Many students from both schools participated in the talent show.

Junior Muskan Musabji said, “The talent show was an amazing way to show the talent we have here across Belvidere. I loved seeing and participating in the show especially since we did raise so much money that went to a good cause.” Musabji sang “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato.

BHS senior Emily Beal won the talent show. Beal sang “Never Enough” from the Greatest Showman.

“I think it was a  great way for everyone to show their talents, and it was also a lot of fun to watch,” said junior Grace Haug.

Many people attended the event showing how supportive and great the community of Belvidere is. Portions of the proceeds made at the show went to Dylan Dossett and his family. Dossett goes to Caledonia Elementary School he is been battling cancer for a considerable time.

Shelonka said, “Having a portion of the proceeds to benefit a local family was a cause we wanted to help with. The amount collected astounded me!”
