During the holiday’s parents tend to plan out fun activities for kids and teens. Most of them do these during winter break. Most people tend to look at Rockford events because it’s the closest city near Belvidere. These events keep kids and teenagers busy while having fun!

First is the Holiday Hoopia is on Dec. 26 at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Discovery Center Museum in Rockford. It is fun for the little kids. Since there are games, toys, decorations and more. It’s an educational and entertainment event for them, according to http://www.discoverycentermuseum.org/.

Second is the Ice Hogs game vs the Chicago Wolves Dec. 28, the game is at 7 p.m. People can go to ticket master.com to get tickets and it’s at the BMO Harris center in Rockford, as found on http://www.icehogs.com/home/.

Senior Mariah Perez has gone to an Ice Hogs before and the experience for her was that it was cold. But she doesn’t plan on attending to another game soon. 

Third is the Countdown to Fun! At the Discovery Center Museum. It happens on Dec. 31, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. There are arts and crafts for the kids and a countdown for New Years!

Next is the holiday Sinnissippi Park Christmas lights in Rockford. The display of lights is on throughout the month of Dec.

Then there is the All Aglow Exhibit at the Nicholas Conservatory. This happens from now until Jan. 7. There will be Christmas lights up outside and beautiful flowers and plants inside the building, according to https://www.nicholasconservatory.com/.

“We thought that The Grinch movie was pretty good!” Said Jonathan Allen (senior).

Finally, during winter break there is time to watch movies with family or friends at AMC Showplace Rockford 16. The four most popular movies are The Grinch, Once upon a Dead pool, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, and then The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.  Movie times are posting on their website.
