The girls bowling team placed 4th at regionals and advanced to sectionals on Feb 10. Also, the team had a top 10 finish at the Dixon Invitational.

The Bucs’ 5,447 series bowl was good enough to place fourth at regionals and advance to sectionals. Senior Hailey Carter led the Bucs with a 1,252 series while senior Holley Steelberg helped with a series of 1,134.

“I went in with a clear mind and I covered my spares well. We cheered as a team and they kept me going as well,” said Carter.

The girls placed eighth at the Dixon Invitational. There were a total of 22 teams at this invitational and the girls placed in the top half. Carter had a series bowl of 1,179 and junior Elyce Turnipseed helped with a 1,069.

“I feel really confident in my team and myself. I feel we can make it to state this year, and if not we have a few really good individuals who have a chance of making it,” said junior Lexy Sherman.

The sectionals will be hosted by Kaneland in DeKalb at Mardi Gras Bowling Alley at Feb 10.
