Senior Anthony Guiterrez, Junior Kevin Jenks, and Sophomore Greg Suthers represented BHS at the DeKalb Sectionals Jenks bowled a series 1,230 landing him 42nd place, Guiterrez had 1,152 getting 70th place, and Suthers bowled a series 1,119 getting 80th place, unfortunately, they did not make it to state.

“Everything that could go wrong went wrong,” said Suthers.

At the Hononegah regionals, Jan.13 Jenks bowled a series of 1,299 landing him in fourth place, Suthers had a series of 1,277 landing him in sixth when Gutierrez had a series of 1,211 barely getting him the last spot for sectionals.

Gutierrez almost didn’t make it to sectionals but fortunately for him, Nicholas Fuller from Boylan couldn’t make it to sectionals bringing Gutierrez up to tenth place.

It feels great to place fourth and I’m so happy I did, but I couldn’t have done it without the rest of my team, and their constant motivation and encouragement. I am very excited to go to sectionals because there are three of us advancing and it will make sectionals much more fun and easier,” said Jenks.

The boys’ bowling team didn’t continue to sectionals getting sixth place at the Hononegah regionals on Jan.13.

The boys’ bowling team attended a tournament at Viking lanes last Saturday. The boys’ shot a series of 5,958 landing them in sixth place beating North by 45 points.

“I’m confident in saying that if all three boys show up and bowl the way I know they can bowl then all three will make it to State,” said coach Marc Felix.
